finally a drawing where you didn't make the melon obese

NoNthings responds:

obese is crazy 💀

It might seem crazy what I'm about to say

Happiness is the truth.

The level of detail here and in your other works is stunning. How long do these take you on average?

Guileness responds:

Thanks! It means a lot!
This one in particular took about 1 week for each (I wanted to go above and beyond for the client). Otherwise, it normally takes about 2-3 days, depending on how much detail I'm willing to put in.

so i get his name is steve but who's the other one with the single piece, the visor thingy

Kunaigirl responds:

You mean Captain/Cap? HIs non-captain name is John! 👍

Nothing will surpass the sheer quality, passion, and dedication of this masterpiece.

How do you do shading for pixel art? looks like it's really complex to do

Okinasai responds:

Well specifically for this one, shading was created when I used different shades of the same color and kind of imagining in my head what the shadows or shine on the real-life versions would look like.
For example, on the candy wrapper the two ends get crumpled since they have been tied, meaning that there will be waves in the wrapper where light doesn't hit. Same for the shine, I imagine the sun in the sky is the light source so colors on the top part of the candy wrapper will be a brighter shade of green.
I'm guessing shading gets easier through experience and learning from videos; I'm still a noob👌
