praporshchik sounds so European (im guessing german or russian) and yes it is a intimidating name. congrats. (sorry for the belated delay)
It's a russian name. I learned from old posts in the forums that it was used in place of "Warrant Officer", its english equivalent. I wish there could be an option to switch rank titles to different languages so that a corporal could be called a Kapral or an Unteroffizier.
